Consequences of verbal bullying

Consequences of verbal bullying

There are a lot of consequences due to verbal bullying. First of all, verbal bullying can lead to low self-esteem in the future because the victim will have had the habit of feeling inferior to everyone else. For example, a kid who constantly gets teased because of his obesity will probably not apply for certain jobs, even if he likes them, because he will feel insecure about his physique. Secondly, the victim might feel so alone and unhappy because of verbal bullying that it can lead to depression that can last his whole life. Verbal bullying is very serious and bad because it even might aggravate what a victim is living at home or in other places. For example, if his parents are always fighting or if one of his family members dies, the victim will have to deal with twice the pressure and sadness. In serious cases, the verbal bullying might be so bad that the victim will feel the need to hurt himself (substance abuse) or even to commit suicide. We need to find a way to end verbal bullying before irreparable consequences like that occur.
